Course Description

Registration for Fall Driver's Education is now OPEN! 

Designed to equip new drivers with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for safe and lawful driving, this course is a blend of classroom instruction and hands-on driving experience. Whether you're a teenager eager to get behind the wheel or an adult seeking to improve your driving skills, our course is tailored to meet your needs. 

  • Cost: $350
  • Scholarship Availability: Students ages 15  through 17 can apply for a scholarship through the Georgia Driver's Education Commission. (Read more here!)
  • Curriculum: The course includes 30 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of behind-the-wheel training, focusing on maneuvering, parking, and driving in various traffic conditions. This program satisfies the requirements of Joshua's Law.
  • Certification: Upon successful completion, students will receive a Certificate of Completion, fulfilling the Georgia DDS requirements for teens seeking to obtain their Class D driver's license.

Students must attend all four class dates. 

  • Scholarship Deadline: September 30
  • Payment Deadline: October 1

*Students who have a scholarship through GDEC, should enter their scholarship code on their application and forward their award email to driversed@wiregrass.edu.
*Students who do not have a scholarship code should submit payment through the online portal. Wiregrass staff members will send you an email with a link to pay AFTER your application has been received and processed.
